We all have had disagreements. Most of us have been in meetings and churches when disagreements seem to take over.
How can we face conflict and maintain community? What might we do or say differently if we are in the community only for a season? Does it matter whether or not we are called into the community to participate in resolving the conflict?
We’ll look at these and related questions together, including with Friends who have embraced a call to public ministry.

Bill Eagles has conducted workshops and spoken on Quaker topics, including conflict among Friends and Quaker decision-making, for a variety of audiences, including Haverford College, Wilmington College, FWCC Section of the Americas, FUM, and Earlham School of Religion.
He has a BS degree in agriculture from North Carolina State University, an MA in higher education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a JD from Wake Forest University. A retired lawyer, he is an experienced teacher of undergraduate and law students.
Leadership roles among Friends include Clerking the ESR Board of Advisors, North Carolina Yearly Meeting, and New Garden Quarter. His board service includes the FUM board, the Haverford College Corporation, the Friends Mutual Health Group board, the North Carolina Quaker Men board, the Friends Homes board, the North Carolina Yearly Meeting, Inc., board, and the Quaker House of Fayetteville board. He regularly brings prepared messages to programmed and semi-programmed Meetings.
